Hello Roatan Foodies! In this post we are going to explore three of my favorite places to eat in the West End. Needless to say, there are many excellent options throughout town and the whole island, but these three were my very favorites.
Café de Palo: The Perfect Roatan Way Start to Your Day
There’s no better way to start your day in West End, Roatan, than with a hearty breakfast at Café de Palo. This charming eatery is known for its delightful breakfast menu, brimming with delicious options that are sure to satisfy your morning cravings.
Whether you’re in the mood for classic breakfast dishes or something a little more adventurous, Cafe de Palo has you covered. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the friendly staff, makes this a perfect spot to kickstart your day.
We actually went there twice. It was so good that we decided to repeat. The first day we got chilaquiles and avocado toast. We started with fresh coffee and orange juice. All of this was delicious!
On our second occasion we got the classic breakfast, with toast, butter, and honey. Every single thing we got was fresh and very tasty. Word of advice: don’t come here in a hurry. This place was meant to be enjoyed.
A big plus is the location and beautiful decoration. The whole place is beautiful, and you feel you’re very close to Roatan’s beautiful nature. I was sending pictures to my friends back home, and they were jealous of me. If you want to have more friends, brag that you’re there!
Yahongreh?: A Very Honduran Culinary Experience
You can visit Yahongreh? for breakfast or lunch. The offering here is very simple: Honduran Baleadas, bagels, egg dishes, smoothies, and pancakes. There were two ladies running the restaurant, and everything was settled in Honduran Lempira.
The location is very convenient, very close to the roundabout in the West End strip in Roatan. This place is more like a food truck: it is small and it has some seating space, but don’t expect to have a very fancy setting.
On the other hand, prices are very reasonable, and the food is delicious. Those were the first baleadas we had in Honduras, and they did not fail to disappoint. As you can see in the menu, they can add a lot of ingredients to the baleadas.
As with all of the restaurants in West End, all of the ingredients are fresh and very tasty. It is amazing that you can have access to food made from scratch at very reasonable prices. Roatan knows how to provide great food!
Argentinian Grill: Your Lunch and Dinner Destination
When lunchtime rolls around, there’s no better place to be than Argentinian Grill. This popular restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring authentic Argentinian cuisine. With a variety of succulent grilled meats, fresh salads, and tasty sides, there’s something for everyone at this West End hotspot.
We had a chance to go to their West End and West Bay locations. Having been to Buenos Aires many times, I always have expectations when going to an Argentine restaurant. The Argentinian Grill did not disappoint, at all.
Their grilled provolone was delicious, though it came with olives and it is not my favorite. Nonetheless, the cheese was amazing. The chorizo was also very good, and the presentation was incredible. You can tell you’re in a place with very fresh ingredients when the chorizo comes with a salad for garnish.
My steak was very good. I always go for the ribeye, and again, this was a great rib eye. This place is probably pricier than other restaurants in the area, especially if you order steak and wine. However, I will say that it is completely worth it.
The location is great, right by the strip. On a clear evening, you can sit outside, and have this breathtaking amazing view of the bay at West End.
And Many More!
These are only three amazing options for you to try at West End in Roatan. There are many more options that we were not able to experience. We will be back, and hopefully write more reviews for you all. But, for now, enjoy these three great places! And don’t forget to check the Lands End Resort, a fantastic place to stay in the West End.
